Amy Winehouse exhibition opens at Jewish Museum in London
The Jewish Museum of the UK in London will today open an exhibition exploring the personal life of late singer Amy Winehouse.
Entitled Amy Winehouse: A Family Portrait, the project aims to delve into the private world of Winehouse away from the public eye, with her brother Alex describing her as ”simply a little Jewish kid from North London with a big talent.”
The exhibition will offer “access to Amy’s personal belongings that celebrate her passion for music, fashion, suduko, Snoopy, London and her family”. It will also feature everything from Winehouse’s first ever guitar to her posthumous Grammy Award.
Museum chief executive Abigail Morris said of the exhibit: ”It’s a story that people don’t know about Amy, her family story. You can forget there’s a person behind the hype.”
The Jewish Museum is located near Winehouse’s former home in Camden Town. More info on the event can be found here, it’ll run from 3 July – 15 September.
Winehouse passed away in 2011.
