You may not have heard of amiina but you’ll no doubt have heard amiina, as these four graduates from the Reykjavík College of Music spent the best part of ten years as the string section for Sigur Rós.
But when the days of throwing violins out of hotel room windows came to a close they released their debut album Kurr in 2007 and are due to release its follow up Puzzle this month.
Incorporating more rhythmic work and electronic compositions than their debut – Puzzle looks set to build upon their solid musical foundations. A free download from the new album ‘Over And Again’ is available now from the band’s website.
amiina are also embarking on a European tour and play three dates in Ireland and the UK:
September 25th, Dublin, Fringe Festival
September 27th – Birmingham – Glee Club
September 28th – London – XOYO
