AlunaGeorge to perform in first ever live Minecraft concert
Dance-pop duo AlunaGeorge are set to play a show tomorrow... in Minecraft.
It's being billed as the first-ever live concert in the video game.
Broiler, Lemaitre, and Juniorsymfonikerne will also be part of the event, which takes place as part of Norway's technology/gaming festival The Gathering. The three acts will be playing in the real world, with the music beamed in to players during an online Minecraft session - with characters created and moved to mimic each of the musicians' performances in-game.
Heisholt Inc. have been behind the project, with the company's Erik Heisholt telling The Local: “There have been plenty of other music experiences in the Minecraft universe, but not like this. This will be the world’s first live Minecraft concert... I’m sure they’ll be able to accommodate around 2000 to 3000 people, so this will have the same sort of feel as seeing a show in small concert venue.”
