Alt-J bassist Gwil Sainsbury has parted ways with the Mercury Prize winners, the band reveal.
The group, who released debut album An Awesome Wave in 2012, broke the news via Twitter, posting the following tweet:
With regret, Gwil is leaving alt-J. This is purely a personal decision and as our best friend we support him completely.

Alt-J are still to release their second album later in 2014.
