Alt-J confirm themselves for Glasto at BRITs, Mumford & Sons hint at headline slot
Alt-J proceeded to annoy Michael Eavis’ tight-lipped press team when they confirmed themselves as playing this year’s Glastonbury festival in front of a live BRIT Awards audience at London’s O2 Arena last night.
The band, who were up for three awards but failed to pick up any, revealed to James Corden in a live interview that they’ll be performing at the summer event.
In response to a question about their summer plans, they replied: “Yeah, we’re playing Leeds, Reading, Glastonbury, we’re playing around Europe as well.”
Mumford & Sons, who took home ‘Best British Group’, also hinted at a headline slot at Glasto. They told BBC 6 Music reporters that they “are always open” to playing the festival.

Glastonbury hasn’t yet officially confirmed any acts for this year’s fest, which will be the first since 2011 after a year off.
It will take place at Worthy Farm, Pilton, from 26-30 June 2013.
