Alien Tango among 51 bands to livestream sets from home for Cuarentena Fest

While Spain is on lockdown following the coronavirus outbreak, Alien Tango and 50 other bands will be hosting livestream performances from their home as part of Cuarentena Fest.

Cuarentena Fest kicks off today (16 March), and will run until 27 March. The festival has been launched in response to Spain's country-wide quarantine following the spread of COVID-19.

Alongside Alien Tango, Malamute, Valdivia, Betacam, Elektra Insogna, De Los Santos, Lois, Penélope, and many other Spanish artists will be performing live sets from their homes for the public to enjoy while stuck in their homes.

In a press release, the organisers explain how Cuarentena Fest was born, "The idea of Cuarentena Fest was born last Wednesday, March 11th, still without a name or any technical advice. Voicemails, text messages and word of mouth among musicians and acquaintances made that by noon on that same day the line up had fifteen names on it, and by the time we announced they were already thirty. The final line up was done after receiving lots of messages and proposals from many artists via all social networks, which the organizers listened and selected with our best efforts."

Cuarentena Fest have also added a donation button to their site, which they explain will be "distributed equally among all the artists participating".
