Always a treat to have new material from London based Alessi Laurent-Marke, especially when it’s a pre-cursor to her eagerly awaited new album (and first for Bella Union) Time Travel – due out in April. After her confident yet ill fated major label debut album Notes From A Treehouse from 2009, all went a bit quiet on the Ark front. Aside from a quietly released EP from last year, ‘Wire’ is the first new material we’ve been able to get our teeth into and, although short, it’s an incessantly sweet ditty - aided ably by the video which was directed by sometime TLOBF contributor Anika Mottershaw.
