Alcopop! Records launch Pay What You Want store on Bandcamp to support artists amid coronavirus
Alcopop! Records have launched a Pay What You Want store on Bandcamp to support artists following the coronavirus outbreak.
While Bandcamp have announced that they're giving up revenue shares for one day today (20 March) to support artists during the COVID-19 pandemic, Alcopop! Records have launched a Pay What You Want store on their bandcamp page.
Alcopop!'s store, which is open until midnight tonight, has music from artists such as johnny foreigner, Happy Accidents, Tellison, Hellogoodbye, and some rarities including a signed Bo Ningen 7", a Tubelord test pressing, and more.
Label boss Jack Clothier says, "Today, however skint people are, they can get themselves a new LP, CD, or shirt, for nothing more than the price of postage. The reason being; we all need a bit of cheering up right now, and asking for folks to support us as a label in these difficult times is all very well, but when people don't have a safe job to support them, they need some love as well."
He adds, "All orders will be shipped out with a personal note telling people how great they are and wishing 'em all well, and hopefully we'll spread a bit of cheer, however locked down we are."
Its been a horrible week or two, so to cheer you up (with the OK of our amazing artists), we've set up a PWYW shop on Bandcamp... Digital, vinyl, CD, tea towels all PWYW for 24 hours early. Cos we all need a little love right now <3 https://t.co/tJhqCR7iHo pic.twitter.com/ngEhQQvAYX
