Adele reportedly signs £90 million record deal with Sony
According to reports, Adele has inked a new record deal with Sony for £90 million - the biggest ever deal for a British star.
The record-shattering balladeer was previously signed to independent label XL Recordings, and had been since she was 19 years old. The deal expired this year, with Sony apparently offering her a more tempting contract.
The Guardian report that the deal will double Adele's "£85 million fortune", which includes over £35 million from latest LP 25.
Apparently the deal was arranged by Adele's manager Jonathan Dickins just ahead of the Christmas holidays. As The Guardian notes, if this timeframe is correct, Adele's speech supporting Kesha at the BRIT Awards now has a new subtext.
