Public Enemy, Donna Summer and Randy Newman are among the crop of names announced today for next year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The confrontational rap collective fronted by Chuck D represent only the fourth ever hip hop artists to be inducted into the spurious institution, following last year’s recipients Beastie Boys, Run DMC (2009) and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five (2007).
They’re joined by the likes of Heart, Rush, Albert King, Lou Adler and Quincy Jones.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony takes place next April.
