2 Chainz arrested at Los Angeles airport for possession of narcotics

After a fraught trip to San Francisco in which he was robbed at gunpoint (despite denying as much) rapper 2 Chainz has now been taken into custody for possession of marijuana and promethazine, commonly known as sizzurp or “purple drank”.

Tauheed Epps’s dalliance with the headlines continues, as it emerged yesterday that he had been detained at the Los Angeles International Airport. MTV reports that he was apprehended in Terminal 5 with a small quantity of marijuana, while FACT adds that he was found to be carrying sizzurp, a popular sedative concoction made with codeine and promethazine, and a favourite drink of Lil Wayne.

In what is becoming time-honoured tradition, 2 Chainz once again took to Twitter to combat the news:

It’s not yet clear whether these brushes with the law adequately qualify 2 Chainz to appear alongside fellow lean-fiend Weezy at the America’s Most Wanted festival this August.
