La Sécurité share new disco track, "Deny"

La Sécurité have released "Deny", the final single from their upcoming second album, Bingo!.

"Deny" follows previous singles "Snack City", "Detour", "Bingo", and "Ketchup". Speaking about the song, which is accompanied by a video directed by Béatrice Cuierrier-Legault, the band say: “Initially written in French and translated to English, the song deals with dysfunctional relationships and getting rid of burdens in your life. Standing up for yourself. This doesn't work for me; I'm out. The bass hook was stolen from Standard Emmanuel, Félix's solo project.”

Discussing the video concept, Cuierrier-Legault adds: “For the ‘Deny’ music video, I wanted to visually create tableaus for each character, based on different aesthetics, cantered around the concept of denial. Since La Sécurité is mainly composed of millennials, I wanted to highlight 90s and post-punk influences, but also the arrival of the internet and new digital creation methods.

"The collective enjoys blending various aesthetics, genres, and styles, and often works through collage, both musically and in their visual identity, notably with Melissa’s 'scrapbooking' style collages for their vinyl records. Visually and creatively, it was only natural that their video would reflect them, that we would feel the collage, the many tableaus, interspersed with moments from their daily lives.”

Bingo! is released on 12 June via Bella Union
