“I’m not sure which way I’m going, but it’s exciting – that’s the spirit of this album": LA Priest to return with new album, Into The Sky
LA Priest has announced his upcoming album, Into The Sky, and unveiled new single "Ever No".
Into The Sky is the fourth album that singer-songwriter Sam Eastgate will be releasing under the moniker LA Priest, following 2023's Fase Luna and his 2024 EP La Fusion. New single and cyber-ballad "Ever No" arrives just weeks after the reveal of title track "Into the Sky" as the latest preview of a collection of pop songs on which Eastgate dives into themes of love and liberation.
“I’m not sure which way I’m going, but it’s exciting – that’s the spirit of this album,” Eastgate says of Into The Sky, which was co-written and co-produced with his friend Alex Ridha (aka Boys Noize), who also took the lead on mixing the album.
The origins of Into The Sky go back to the COVID-19 lockdown period, when Eastgate felt inspired to make a dance album entirely out of samples. Through that process, he began developing his own style of house music, but shelved the project to later travel with his family and develop the songs that would appear on Fase Luna. “For a long time, I wanted to make stuff for your mind. This one is more for the mind and the body,” Eastgate explains. “I made this record to dance to. I haven’t really done one that you could put on and dance all the way through before.”
