Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, Hitsujibungaku and Otoboke Beaver to perform at London's first-ever matsuri showcase
matsuri has announced matsuri 26: Japanese Music Experience LONDON, a Japanese music showcase that will make its European debut at Outernet Live on Monday 14 December 2026.
The showcase is presented by MUSIC WAY PROJECT, a collaborative initiative between the Culture and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association (CEIPA), to introduce Japanese music and culture to new audiences. matsuri's first London event will feature J-pop artist and Charli xcx collaborator Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, alt-rock band Hitsujibungaku, and punk outfit Otoboke Beaver, who supported the likes of Green Day, Jack White, Foo Fighters and Oasis at their shows in Japan.
“I'm so excited to be performing in London again for the first time in a year!," Kyary Pamyu Pamyu says. "I'm especially looking forward to sharing the stage this time with such a wonderfully diverse group of Japanese female artists, each with their own unique character and style. I'll give it everything I've got to share the magic of Japanese music with everyone in London!”
Otoboke Beaver add: “Hello! We’re OTOBOKE BEAVER from Japan! We’re honoured and excited to be asked to play matsuri LONDON. We’re travelling all the way to London especially for this event, and we look forward to seeing everyone there. See you under the mirror ball!”
