KOKOROKO celebrate reconciliation on new single, "Just Can’t Wait"
KOKOROKO have unveiled their new single "Just Can’t Wait", the latest taste of their forthcoming second studio album, Tuff Times Never Last.
Co-bandleader Sheila Maurice-Grey said: “It’s a song with a congregational feeling for the steppers. One that people can listen to on a Saturday or Sunday morning and feel uplifted. A big reference for the track were the horn melodies from Tom Browne’s ‘Funkin' for Jamaica (N.Y.)’”.
Their forthcoming full-length follows 2022 debut album, Could We Be More. To coincide with the release of Tuff Times Never Last, KOKOROKO will be embarking on the biggest headline show of their career when they play London’s O2 Academy Brixton on 25 September.
Tuff Times Never Last, is set for release on 11 July via Brownswood Recordings, and is available to pre-order now.
