Kneecap biopic premieres at Sundance Film Festival
As reported by Variety, Kneecap's biopic has been acquired by Sony PIctures Classics, after being premiered at Sundance Film Festival.
KNEECAP the comedy biopic about the Irish rap group, and co-starring Michael Fassbender, has been picked up Sony Pictures Classics, which has acquired all rights to the title for North America, Latin America, Eastern Europe, Turkey and the Middle East.
The film, the debut feature of director Rich Peppiatt and the first Irish-language feature to play Sundance, premiered on Thursday night at the Prospector Square Theatre, after which the band played a set at the after-party at The Cabin on Main Street. The three-piece also brought along an armoured Northern Irish police van for a stunt ahead of the first screening (in 2022, they unveiled a controversial mural of a similar van on fire in Ireland).
In response to a request for comment the band said:

“You can inform the DUP that we will put on a private screening for them in Belfast, in an Orange lodge of their choice. We will send popcorn and fizzy drinks too, all on us. Grá mor [big love].”https://t.co/ul6FW4t9dd
