Kiss Facility detail debut album, KHAZNA
Paris-based duo Kiss Facility, comprised of Emirati-Egyptian singer Mayah Alkhateri and producer Salvador Navarrete (Sega Bodega), have announced their debut LP KHAZNA and shared new single “Cheap Poetry”.
The announcement follows earlier single “Flesh Mix” and arrives with a video for “Cheap Poetry” directed by Tomas Peña and Federico Maniá, whose recent credits include work with Rosalía and Arca.
Since releasing their debut EP, esoteric, in 2023, Kiss Facility have established a sound that draws from shoegaze and indie rock while incorporating melodic and linguistic elements from Alkhateri’s Arabic heritage.
Pulling from this, KHAZNA, which is sung entirely in Arabic by Alkhateri, aims to amplify the voices of young Middle Eastern women navigating restriction, duality, and longing. Setting the tone for Alkhateri's vocals is Navarrete, who has produced for artists including Shygirl, Caroline Polachek and Eartheater under his Sega Bodega moniker, providing the duo’s and textural backdrop.
Their practice is described as "rooted in spiritual enquiry, drawing on themes of psychic perception, ritual protection, intimacy and the afterlife as a force of future destiny", extending beyond sound into image and performance.
