King Hannah share new single, "Davey Says"
Liverpool duo King Hannah (Hannah Merrick and Craig Whittle) have released their new single, "Davey Says", as the second track taken from their upcoming album, Big Swimmer.
“’Davey Says’ is our ode to 90s, American indie garage rock. We wanted this to be a raucous, fuzzy, light-hearted moment in the album, but to still have that feeling of ‘youcandoanything-ness’. The opening line ‘Meet me before the party, I don’t want to walk in alone’ is our attempt at that classic American 90’s imagery, of coming-of-age nostalgia and romance, of late warm summer nights when the future is draped in front of you.”
"Davey Says" is accompanied by a video directed by the band’s own Craig Whittle. The visual is an homage to the 90s garage rock music videos the band love so much, the feeling of nostalgic coming-of age compounded by the use of an old camcorder to capture the more dynamic parts of the video, harking back to home movies and long, endless days of band practices in your parents’ garage.
