Kathleen Hanna, Tom Morello, Fred Armisen, Jello Biafra among contributors to new ICE OUT compilation
Curated by DJ Dali, a new compilation album to raise mutual aid funds for frontline immigrant rights organisations is out today via SoundsGood Records. The laundry list of contributors to Contra-Ice Vol. 1: ICE OUT includes Kathleen Hanna, Tom Morello, Fred Armisen, and Dead Kennedys' Jello Biafra.
Per the Bandcamp bio, "proceeds from the Contra-ICE album will directly fund frontline powerhouses, including the National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON) and Unión del Barrio to defend labor rights and protect community-built wealth."
The compilation was curated by Tunisia-born DJ Dali, with cover art by Lalo Alcaraz - the legendary American cartoonist and author of the satirical Latino comic strip La Cucaracha.
The album's "single" - first track released - is Kathleen Hanna's "Let Me Love You" featuring her partner/Beastie boy Ad Rock, as well as Money Mark, Fredo Ortiz, and Frank Figueroa.
The 47-track album is out today on Bandcamp for $20 or more.
