Kate Nash presents GERM remix EP featuring Peaches, Bimini and more
Kate Nash has released an EP of remixes of her track, "GERM", which served as a message of allyship to the trans community following the UK Supreme Court ruling definition of a “woman”, earlier this year.
Speaking on the EP Nash says: “I want to hear GERM playing in clubs over the winter. We need warm banging anthems to see us through the chilling rise in fascism. I’ve been friends with Peaches for years. I met her in Paris in my early 20s when I was doing a session with Gonzales and she was talking about working on a one woman musical, I was all nervous & just blown away to even be in the same room as her. Over the years we have become friends & she is still one of my biggest inspirations and I was honoured to have her included.“
“Bimini DMed me on Instagram, passionate about the track and wanting to remix it. I reached out to Charlieeeee & Jaguar myself, young artists killing it & doing their own unique thing. I love everyone’s interpretation & I love how different they all sound. It all came together & I’m really excited for GERM to enter its nightlife era. There’s also an acoustic version on the EP from when I played on Inisbofin this summer with my guitarist BOOMVISION, felt like a nice way to round it off“, Nash continues.
