Káryyn maps internal forces on new James Ford and Hudson Mohawke co-produced album Physics Universal Love Language (PULL)
Syrian-Armenian-American experimental artist Káryyn will release her new album, Physics Universal Love Language (PULL) this May.
The 10-track record is described by Káryyn – real name Karin Tatoyan – as a sonic conclusion drawn from years of personal exploration into existence, intimacy, and time. “Physics Universal Love Language (PULL) is about the forces that hold us, rearrange us, and pull us back together,” says Tatoyan. “It’s a framework for understanding my relationship with Self. This record is the sound of my human revolution.”
James Ford, Hudson Mohawke worked on the record's production with Tatoyan, with Marta Salogni on mixing duties. Sonically, the work is built from voice, strings, modular synths, and rhythms tuned to 432Hz, incorporating string arrangements informed by Armenian and Middle Eastern traditions. “I went hunting for dark matter,” Tatoyan says of the process, “and instead I found brilliance, light, and potential.”
The first single "Collapse Phase" is, Tatoyan says “the sonic threshold of confrontation and acceptance.... it's the sound of outdated systems breaking down—relational, emotional, foundational—no longer serving the universal truth that has arrived.” The video for the single is produced by Black Dog Films and features a performance from legendary choreographer Supple Nam, his first in 19 years, alongside dancer Sattva Thanh-Tú Nguyễn.
She'll touring the record across the UK and Europe with Apparat in early 2026, including a London date at HERE at Outernet on 3 February.
