Kanye West made his runway debut at Paris Fashion Week yesterday (2 October) by opening Balenciaga's Summer '23 Collection show.
Ye, who is a longtime friend and Balenciaga collaborator, opened the show by walking the mud-filled runway at Parc des Expositions dressed in an all-black outfit consisting of a baseball cap, hood, a padded military-style jacket with a "security" patch, leather-look trousers and boots. Watch Ye make his runway debut from the two-minute mark.
According to Harper's Bazaar, Balenciaga creative director Demna Gvasalia said the use of mud on the runway was "a metaphor for digging for truth and being down to earth."
