Kanye West defends selling Yeezy Gap clothes in construction bags
Kanye West has given a rare TV interview to Fox News to defend his decision with selling his Yeezy Gap clothes in construction bags that have been mistaken for large bin bags.
Ye appeared on Fox News earlier today (18 August) to discuss recent backlash over how he displays his Yeezy Gap clothes in the flagship New York City store, saying he's an "innovator" and he's "not here to sit up and apologise about my ideas."
His Yeezy Gap products are displayed in the New York City Gap store inside large construction bags, which some people, and outlets, thought were bin bags.
Fox News' Eric Shawn spoke to Ye about how he displays his Yeezy Gap line, and told viewers that Ye thinks his "message is being misrepresented and misunderstood," and he's trying to "challenge traditional conventions in the way we dress, and make clothing that's more egalitarian."
On camera, Ye said, "I'm an innovator, and I’m not here to sit up and apologise about my ideas ... This is not a joke, this is not a game, this is not just some celebrity collaboration. This is my life. I’m fighting for a position to be able to change clothing and bring the best design to the people."
