Kamran Khan details debut album, I Came From Nowhere & Nowhere Is Where I Am Going

"Goodnight" follows previous singles "Personally", featuring The Japanese House, and "Adventures in Monotony".

Speaking about the track, Khan says: “Mixing lyrically sad lyrics with buoyant, melodic, joyous music is, to me, what brings about catharsis. And that was very much the experience with ‘Goodnight’, the first song on the album. I was very lost in my own ruminations about that time, and in a really horrible place. I started playing along to this drum loop and it all just kind of came out. I needed to express how lost I was, but I also needed to own it and feel jubilant about it.”

I Came From Nowhere & Nowhere Is Where I Am Going, co-produced and mixed by Luciano Rossi, sees Khan translating his formative traumas around family, substance abuse, relationships and career shortcomings into alt-rock tracks. “I realised that I was approaching this music from a place of profound conviction,” Khan says of the songs. “With this album, I felt I could draw a line — and put my own name to it for the first time.”
