Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith covers Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody"
Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith has covered the Whitney Houston classic "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" for a new Spotify Singles release.
Smith's version of Houston's original follows her recent rework of Soundwalk Collective with Patti Smith's "Song Of The Highest Tower", and arrives alongside a recording of her own "Unbraid: The Merge" from her August album Let's Turn It Into Sound.
"Whitney Houston's voice is like no other voice," Smith says of the cover. "Her voice is a north star for so many singers. I wanted to create a cover that was filled with an energy of collective appreciation for her. Her legacy lives on in so many. I will never know what it feels like to sing like her but having the chance to cover one of her songs taught me so much about how much of a vocal prodigy she is. ONE OF A KIND."
Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith's cover of Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" is on Spotify now.
