Justin Vernon and Amelia Meath join Kevin Morby on new single, "Badlands"
Kevin Morby has released "Badlands", featuring guest vocals from Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) and Amelia Meath (Sylvan Esso), the newest single from his upcoming album, Little Wide Open.
"Badlands" follows previous singles "Die Young" and "Javelin". The track explores Morby's relationship with Kansas city and the broader Midwest, as he explains, “Kansas City is not the badlands but it’s my badlands. It’s not the bible belt but it’s my bible belt.”
Vernon and Meath — who provide harmonies that mimic tornado sirens — appear as two of several collaborators on the album, including Katie Gavin, Lucinda Williams, Mat Davidson, Meg Duffy, Oliver Hill, Rachel Baiman, Stuart Bogie, Tim Carr, Andrew Barr, Benjamin Lanz, Colin Croom and Tom Moth
Little Wide Open is released on 15 May via Dead Oceans
