Joyeria details vinyl exclusive debut album, Decay Decay Decay

30 June 2026, 09:30 | Written by Kayla Sandiford

London-based artist Joyeria has revealed plans for his upcoming debut album, Decay Decay Decay, and released album opener "Duller Grey".

Following Joyeria's previous EPs FIM and Graceful Degradation,Decay Decay Decay sees Joyeria turning adulthood anxieties into anthems, with "Duller Grey" arriving as the first preview. Speaking about the single, Joyeria says, “While the future may have once looked bright (in theory at least, I vaguely remember having this feeling when I was young), the reality of the present often feels like a duller grey where advanced technology is squandered on the precision-targeting of garbage products and ideas. As human rights remain under threat and war disrupts peaceful lives, it is no wonder we retreat into rose-tinted nostalgia as the grey turns to black.”

Unlike Joyeria's earlier releases, Decay Decay Decay will not be available on streaming platforms. It will only be released physically, with Rough Trade stocking a limited vinyl bundle that features a companion poetry book and a one-of-a-kind original drawing, while standard vinyl, CD, cassette and digital downloads will be available via Joyeria's Bandcamp.

"I can't name a single system in any industry where the end goal of that system is the monetisation of the user, and that system remains democratic," Joyeria says of his decision to keep Decay Decay Decay off streaming platforms. "It makes my stomach turn (as I'm sure it does for 99% of all artists) to think that every time I want to share or promote some music, painting, writing, photography etc... I need to involve some third party tech company as an intermediary. If the system only rewards money and nepotism, it also means it can't be a meritocracy... so it therefore has no real artistic value."

The album was recorded to reel-to-reel tape back in March at Radlicks Studio in London, with no computers used in the process of writing, recording, or mixing. The ten songs see Joyeria reflect on three forms of decay: physical, environmental, and the personal breakdown of human will, concepts that emerged as a moment of clarity while he was healing a dislocated shoulder earlier this year. “I saw three faces of ruin: the body’s failure, the world’s erosion, and the mind’s slide into atrophy," he recalls."
