Joviale and Fabiana Palladino feature on Laura Groves' first release in two years, Yes

Laura Groves has returned with the announcement of her forthcoming EP, Yes, alongside the release of new track, "Deep Blue".

Commenting on “Deep Blue” Laura Groves says: “Deep Blue is a song about asking somebody to be vulnerable and reveal more of their secret world, whilst also trying to embody those things myself. There is a directness to the hard kick drum and opening lines of the song - a confrontation and then an admission of deep feelings, stirred up like a deep blue body of water by the heavily modulated Juno 106 synthesiser. My close friends Joviale and Fabiana Palladino join me on backing vocals in the chorus.”

The accompanying video, which as a multi-disciplinary artist Laura created herself, is a striking video collage similar in style to her previous video work for 2023’s Radio Red album, made up of layered footage she shot and collected over the last few years.

Following a thread from 2020’s A Private Road, the Yes EP is a filmic journey into, through and out of a period of lockdown. The forthcoming release comes on the heels of her recent collaborative work with Richard Russell’s Everything Is Recorded project, and her 2023 debut album, Radio Red.

Laura Groves will be supporting Jessica Pratt in July before she hooks up with Everything Is Recorded to perform as part of their live band at a number of festivals and the Village Underground in London. Then, in November, she will play a number of shows supporting Nourished by Time.

Yes, will be released on 1 August via Bella Union and is available to pre-order here.
