Johnny Marr joins PJ Harvey on stage in Manchester to perform three songs
PJ Harvey concluded her UK tour at Manchester's Albert Hall last night (October 3) and was joined on stage by The Smiths' guitarist Johnny Marr.
In support of her first album in seven years, I Inside The Old Year Dying, PJ Harvey played a duo of shows at the 3Olympia Theatre in Dublin, Barrowland Glasgow, and The Roundhouse in London, before concluding the tour at the Albert Hall in Manchester.
The performance included the brand new album in its entirety, alongside a second act career retrospective including the likes of "Dress", "Man-Size", "To Bring You My Love", and "Down By The Water".
During the first act, Harvey addressed the crowd, saying: “I’d like to welcome a very special guest to the stage – please welcome Johnny Marr,” before the duo performed "The Desperate Kingdom of Love".
Marr then returned during the encore for "C’mon Billy" and "White Chalk". Following the performance, Marr took to X, formerly known as Twitter) to thank Harvey for the evening. “Brilliant show by the amazing PJ Harvey and her magic band,” he wrote. “A real privilege to play those songs. Love ya Polly".
