Jessica Pratt discusses Troye Sivan sampling her song, "Back, Baby"
Troye Sivan sampled Jessica Pratt's 2014 song "Back, Baby" on his latest album Something To Give Each Other.
"Can't Go Back Baby", which features on Sivan's third studio album Something To Give Each Other, contains a sample of Jessica Pratt's track, "Back, Baby", which was debuted on her album, On Your Own Love Again.
Speaking to Pitchfork, Pratt expressed her surprise at Troye asking to sample the song: “‘Back, Baby’ was recorded to a cassette tape in a tiny bedroom ten years ago, so it was really unexpected to get a request from him. Like everybody else, I find Troye to be irresistible.” Last week, Sivan gushed about Pratt to The Guardian, saying: “I always thought that "Back, Baby" was a really special song. Her voice is kind of timeless – I feel like it could have existed forever.”
Something To Give Each Other is out now via EMI Music Australia.
