Jarvis Cocker and Hot Chip's Alexis Taylor to play final event at Southbank's Spiritland next week
Spiritland's Southbank location has closed, but there's two final events taking place over the next week, and Jarvis Cocker and Hot Chip's Alexis Taylor will play the final night on 13 January.
Earlier today (6 January) Spiritland announced that its Royal Festival Hall, Southbank venue has closed due to "Covid, Brexit, energy price rises and numerous other factors," and revealed that there'll be two final events before "before we pack up the speakers".
The venue, which opened in 2018, will see The Black Keys play "a free party tomorrow night" (7 January), while Jarvis Cocker and Alexis Taylor ("the very first DJs to play here on our launch night"), will play the final event on 13 January.
"We’ll miss our beautiful home on the Southbank," Spiritland added. "We wanted to build a unique and credible addition to London's cultural landscape - our journey will continue elsewhere and we'll keep you posted about what's next for us."
Tickets for Spiritland Royal Festival Hall's The Last Dance event featuring Jarvis Cocker and Alexis Taylor are on sale now via ra.co.
