Jack Antonoff-penned tracks originally made for Kelly Clarkson were used in Girls
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, cast members Allison Williams and Ebon Moss-Bachrach revealed that some of the songs they performed on Girls were originally written for Kelly Clarkson.
In the comedy drama written by Lena Dunham, two characters – Marnie and Desi – start up a duo music group. In an interview with Vanity Fair, where they reunited after seven years reflected on the TV show which aired from 2012-2017, they revealed that they'd just learnt where some of their songs originated from.
“I found out the other day that most of our songs were discards from Kelly Clarkson,” Moss-Bachrach said. “I think some of them were,” interjected Williams, “I think the song ‘Breathless’ was written by Jack Antonoff for Kelly Clarkson.”
Neither Antonoff or Clarkson has shared any statements about the songs.
