Jacana People sign to Nettwerk and announce new EP, Breaker

Breaker, due for release later this year, follows the pair’s 2023 EP Sunblind. “Nudge” arrives as the first preview of the upcoming collection, and their debut release on Nettwerk. The track, which is what ultimately led the producers to make a EP, draws inspiration from the energy of 90s rave culture based on minimalist drums and a deep bass groove.

Discussing the single, Jacana People share: “Nudge was the start of this new body of work - it was the catalyst. We were getting quite obsessive with things feeling as stripped back and minimal as possible. We played Drone Logic on repeat and loved the focus and understatement. It’s seminal. We’ve spent a lot of our time looking at sunlight and nature as the home of our sound but in winter we are out in the city, at night, and want music to reflect that feeling. Those dark, liminal spaces provide that perfect combination of introspection and extroversion.”
