Isla Den announce debut album Heaven Can Wait, share steamy new single “Hypnotized”
Montreal electro duo Isla Den have detailed their first LP, Heaven Can Wait, alongside the release of its lead single, “Hypnotized”. The 11-track record is scheduled for 17 September, and arrives with a music video directed and edited by noshirt.
“Hypnotized” tackles the dizzy rush of unexpectedly falling for someone, its production stacking shimmering progressive house and trance motifs that lift steadily beneath the vocal before the whole thing tips into a big, pulsating finale. It is the clearest meeting point yet for the duo's’s dual instincts: an immediate pop hook, and a club build that takes its time paying off.
The album itself is built around a single idea: that wanting someone can outweigh having them. Across its 11 tracks, Heaven Can Wait
traces a sweep from sunlit optimism into the intimacy of night.
Contributors include Darcy Baylis (Ninajirachi, Daine) and inter alia
(BELOW0).
For Isla Den - vocalist Ellie and producer Mira - the record marks a subtle pivot. Earlier material such as the 2024 EP Air Melodies leant into trance, EDM, and other staple electronic dance styles, each track engineered to work towards a euphoric release. On Heaven Can Wait, the duo repurpose those same wide-screen textures for concise electronic pop.
The announcement follows a stretch of steady live activity. The pair have toured across Canada, the United States, Mexico, Europe and the UK, sharing bills with Ninajirachi, TDJ, Malibu, Mechatok and Eurohead. At present, one live date is confirmed: a DJ set at Montreal’s Piknic Électronik on 27 September.
