Iron & Wine reveals details of eighth album, Hen's Teeth

07 January 2026, 14:00 | Written by Kayla Sandiford

Iron & Wine has announced his eighth album, Hen's Teeth, and shared new single "In Your Ocean".

Sam Beam — the multi-instrumentalist and producer behind Iron & Wine — presents Hen's Teeth as a sibling album to his 2024 release Light Verse. The new album features previous collaborators David Garza, Sebastian Steinberg, Tyler Chester, Griffin Goldsmith, Beth Goodfellow, Kyle Crane and Paul Cartwright, as well as new contributions from Americana trio I'm With Her. The record is described as a "happy accident" that emerged from being in the company of the featured musicians within a creative space.

Speaking of the album, Beam explains: "To me it suggests the impossible. Hen’s teeth do not exist. And that’s what this record felt like: a gift that shouldn’t be there but it is. An impossible thing but it’s real.”

"In Your Ocean" is the latest preview of Hen's Teeth, following the release of "Robin's Egg (feat. I'm With Her)" in June. The track is said to be one of several on the album that depict lovers becoming so intertwined that they physically merge.
