"In the basement on Wooster Street": Porches announces new mixtape with single "HABIT"
New York-based songwriter Aaron Maine, aka Porches, has today announced the MASK mixtape and shared a new song and video, "HABIT".
Recorded to four-track in his basement on Wooster Street, in New York City, Maine said, "I was inspired by how impossible it is to really edit anything on the four track, and I feel like a special spirit was captured in these recordings by embracing their imperfections. I wanted to share them in their rawest form to keep that energy I felt intact."
All songs on MASK were written, produced, and mixed by Maine with. Max Freedberg played drums and piano on “MASK” and drums on “DO THAT”. Jenna Pascale is on cello for “CAROLINE” and “EVERYONE GOES TO HEAVEN.” MASK was mastered by Michael Blumenfeld.Watch the new video below.
MASK is the follow up to Maine's 2025 album Shirt, which is the sixth studio album from Porches. MASK also closely follows the 10 year anniversary shows of Porches’ Pool, which saw stripped back and sold out performances of the seminal album in New York City, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
