Iggy Pop shares cover of Leonard Cohen's "You Want It Darker"
Iggy Pop has released a cover of Leonard Cohen's "You Want It Darker", which is lifted from the forthcoming tribute album Here It Is: A Tribute to Leonard Cohen.
Iggy Pop's version of Cohen's "You Want It Darker" is the fifth outing from Here It Is: A Tribute to Leonard Cohen, following Norah Jones' cover of "Steer Your Way", Gregory Porter's version of "Suzanne", "Coming Back to You" by James Taylor and Nathaniel Rateliff's take on "Famous Blue Raincoat". He says, "There’s nobody like Leonard, not in the whole world."
Here It Is: A Tribute to Leonard Cohen will also include contributions from Mavis Staples, David Gray, Peter Gabriel, Immanuel Wilkins and more, and is produced by Larry Klein.
Here It Is: A Tribute To Leonard Cohen will arrive via Blue Note on 14 October, and is available to pre-order now.
