Ibeyi announce new album Offering
French-Cuban twin duo Ibeyi have announced their first album in four years, Offering, set for release on 26 June and "a return to self", according to the album's announcement.
The record follows 2022’s Spell31 and marks the pair’s first release since going independent. Alongside the announcement, Naomi Diaz and Lisa-Kaindé Diaz have shared the lead single “Aset”, which draws from the story of the goddess Isis – also known as Aset – who acquires sacred knowledge to resurrect her lover Osiris.
Created independently, Offering saw the duo working with a new range of producers and musicians while stepping back from their traditional roles on percussion and piano. All accompanying visuals were shot on location in Havana in collaboration with local artists, musicians and their community, showing an intimate portrait of the Cuba that has long informed the duo’s identity and sound.
