Hovvdy unveil plans for sixth album, Big World
Austin-born indie pop duo Hovvdy have announced their new album, Big World, and released lead single "Try Try Try".
Big World will be the band's first full-length release in two years, following their self-titled album Hovvdy, and offers a collection of songs that are more secure and self-aware. "Try Try Try" arrives as the first preview, alongside a music video directed by Michael Rees.
“The last record felt like such a generous offering: a double-album, deeply personal, you can literally hear me crying on some songs,” Hovvdy co-founder Charlie Martin explains. “With this one, we wanted to take on the challenge of making something more concise and to the point, and give the fans something that feels like a shorter but more exciting ride.”
The album was produced by longtime collaborator Ben Littlejohn and recorded between Nashville, Tennessee and Asheville, North Carolina in Autumn 2025, with a new approach in which Martin and co-founder Will Taylor brought instrumentals to the session instead of complete demos. “When it comes to the music, there’s literally never questions between Charlie and me, only answers,” says Taylor of the process. “We can always show up and not have to worry about the music, and that continues to amaze me.”
Ahead of the release, Hovvdy will be hitting the road to support Bleachers on their US tour in June, followed by a UK and Europe tour supporting Wilco, before they close out the year with a headline tour across the US and Canada.
