Honeyglaze release English Teacher remix of "Movies"
Honeyglaze have shared “Movies (English Teacher Rework)”, as a new spin on their song “Movies” from Lewis Whiting of the Mercury-prize winning English Teacher.
The song has been released to celebrate the one year anniversary of their debut album, Real Deal, and follows label mate (one half of New York hip-hop duo, Armand Hammer) E L U C I D’s rework of “Don’t” as well as “Turn Out Right”.
Speaking of the release, Honeyglaze explains: “We are so excited to share this collaboration with pals English Teacher, who have ingeniously spun our song ‘Movies’ into a 5-minute up-tempo banger. I would’ve never imagined breakdancing to this song like I am right now.”
Lewis Whiting of English Teacher says: “remixing is one of my favourite ways to write music, I like the creative barriers it sets when you’ve got limited material to work from. I wanted to see how far I could get structuring a whole track with just vocal chops. I built the rest of the instrumentation around that. I loved the album. Honeyglaze are pals and we played lots of shows and festivals together in the early days of English Teacher so it’s nice to be able to reconnect and collab on this now.”
“Movies (English Teacher Rework)” is out now via Fat Possum.
