holybones team up with Hak Baker on new song, "ENGLISHMAN"
London anonymous band holybones have released their new single, "ENGLISHMAN", featuring singer and rapper Hak Baker.
"ENGLISHMAN" follows previous tracks "did you ask for this" and "SLUGBOY" featuring Baxter Dury, following their debut EP I got a good night’s sleep released last autumn.
The collaboration sees holybones combine their electronics with Baker's commentary, as the band explain: “Hak’s a living legend, so to get into the studio together and make this track together is just crazy. For us, it’s a story of what it means to be English - creases and all. That said, it was effortless joy making this one and we can’t wait to play it with him."
Delving into the meaning of the song, Baker adds: “‘ENGLISHMAN’ is a monologue of the trials and tribulations of men in the country that have taught us we don't need anyone."
"ENGLISHMAN" (feat. Hak Baker) is out now on Promised Land
