Here's the first look at FKA twigs in remake of The Crow
The first trailer for Rupert Sanders' remake of The Crow has been released, starring FKA twigs and Bill Skarsgård.
The forthcoming movie directed by the maker of Snow White And The Huntsman and the Ghost In The Shell is an adaptation of an indie comic, told the story of Eric Draven – a musician who comes back as an indestructible face-painted revenge demon after he and his girlfriend are murdered by marauding criminals. Skarsgård plays Draven, whilst FKA twigs – who made her acting debut in 2019’s Honey Boy – has been cast as his girlfriend, Shelley Webster.
The original version of “The Crow” was directed by Alex Proyas and featured Brandon Lee, son of Bruce Lee, as Eric Draven. During production, Lee was killed when he was shot by a prop gun on the set of the film.
Speaking to Vanity Fair, director Sanders reflected on this incident and discussed how it inspired his own movie. “Obviously, it was a terrible tragedy, and it’s definitely something that we’ve always had in mind through the making of the film. Brandon was an original voice and I think he will always be synonymous with ‘The Crow,’ and I hope he’s proud of what we’ve done and how we’ve brought the story back again. His soul is very much alive in this film. There’s a real fragility and beauty to his version of the Crow, and I think Bill feels like he is a successor to that.”
The remake of The Crow is set for release on 7 June.
