Helena Deland releases animated video series for Goodnight Summerland
Montreal-based songwriter and musician Helena Deland has released a simple animated video series of songs from her most recent album, Goodnight Summerland.
Released mid-October, Helena Deland's most recent album is a collection of folk songs meditating on the joys of life, the questions we face as we grow older, the agonies and ecstasies of love and the abject sorrow of loss and grief.
Goodnight Summerland was recorded with Sam Evian at Flying Cloud Recordings in the Catskill mountains. Deland's new songs have simpler musical arrangements than 2020's feted dream pop debut Someone New, focussing on the sheer joy and transformative power of a good song and inspired by Joni Mitchell and Vashti Bunyan.
Helena Deland starts her European and UK tour this week. For more information, visit helenadeland.com.
