Harry Styles responsible for registering over 54,000 new voters ahead of 2022 US midterm elections
Harry Styles is responsible for over 54,000 new voter registrations as part of HeadCount's Good to Vote initiative ahead of the 2022 US midterm elections next month.
HeadCount is a US non-profit organisation that uses music and culture "to engage Americans with democracy." According to its Twitter bio, HeadCount has registered over one million "voters at concerts, music festivals & online since 2004."
As part of its Good to Vote initiative ahead of the 2022 US midterm elections in November, Billboard has reported that Harry Styles has helped register over 54,000 new voters, making it the most successful HeadCount campaign with a musical artist in the 18 years that HeadCount has been running.
Styles was offering fans that chance to win tickets and travel to his annual Harryween show in LA in return for fans registering to vote, and it turned out to be a success, as HeadCount received 28,760 new registrations within the first 24 hours of the contest opening, marking the highest number of single day voter registrations HeadCount has ever had.
HeadCount stated that Styles' partnership has resulted in an "unprecedented number for a midterm season," as the new voters coming from Styles account for a third of the total voters HeadCount has registered across the whole year.
Earlier this month Shania Twain said she wants to collaborate with Harry Styles after joining him at Coachella in the summer.
