Icelandic cellist Gyda Valtysdottir has released “Mother Pearl” the title track of her upcoming album Mother Pearl, co-written with Sigur Ros keyboardist Kjartan Sveinsson.

“Mother Pearl” follows previous singles “White Noise”, “Mirror”, and “Checking In”, arriving as the fourth preview of a collection of songs that serve as a “meditation on creation, connection and inner life”.

Discussing the song, Valtysdottir says: "Life is a miracle, existence is a miracle, reality is a miracle, technology is a miracle, creation is a miracle. The song was co-composed by a miracle, effortlessly with a dear friend Kjartan Sveinsson (Sigur Rós), the last song to be written for the album & it ended up becoming the title song."

While the release of Mother Pearl is steadily approaching, Valtysdottir will be soon taking on a new project, as she has been confirmed to score Residente's upcoming movie Porto Rico, starring Bad Bunny, Edward Norton, Javier Bardem and Viggo Mortensen.

Mother Pearl is released on 20 March via marvada
