Guedra Guedra shares Animal Collective remix of “Drift of Drummer"

"Drift of Drummer" is the lead single from Guedra Guedra's album, MUTANT, released last year on Domino's dance music imprint, Smugglers Way. Speaking about the remix, Hassak says: “The act of remixing is a form of sonic alchemy,” says Abdellah. “It takes a raw musical material and transforms it into something entirely different where the original essence remains perceptible only as a trace, yet the listening experience drifts into another universe.

"This remix of ‘Drift of Drummer’ shifts the tribal, hypnotic world of Guedra Guedra into the psychedelic folk cosmos of Animal Collective, a band I deeply admire. What emerges is not a cover nor a reinterpretation but a genuine dialogue between two distinct galaxies, where roots extend into new soil, memory meets mutation, and the unfamiliar becomes deeply coherent.”
