Growing Pains sign to Photo Finish and share new single, “Swimming”

14 May 2026, 17:21 | Written by Kayla Sandiford

Portland four-piece Growing Pains have announced their signing to independent label Photo Finish, and released new single, “Swimming”.

Formed by Jack Havrilla, Kyle Kraft, Kalia Storer, and Carl Taylor, Growing Pains are taking their next step with “Swimming”, which arrives as the band’s first new music since their 2023 EP, Thought I Heard Your Car.

Speaking about the track, which is inspired by the likes of like Liz Phair, Julianna Hatfield, and Joyce Manor, Storer says, “This song is about the helpless feeling that comes from being romantically incompetent. I wrote it after going on a date and they put their arm around me and it felt wrong. I left and went to the airport to watch the planes fly and drink a beer on my truck. Then all of the words came to me—this was the night before our last day of recording.”
