Gordi shares new track "GD (Goddamn)" recorded and produced entirely on her iPhone
Australian singer-songwriter and producer Gordi – aka Sophie Payten – has shared "GD (Goddamn)" as another new cut from her forthcoming album Like Plasticine.
Speaking about the release, Gordi says: "I wrote it as a poem sitting at a kitchen table in Brooklyn. A few days later at my friend's place in LA, I recorded the whole thing on my iPhone. I thought it was just a rough demo but it captured the feeling of the song so perfectly. Like it was a memory I was trying to recall but the fragments kept slipping through my fingers. It's about stopping time."
"GD (Goddamn)" follows a string of cuts from the album, beginning with "Lunch At Dune" from Gordi’s EP of the same name last year and quickly followed up with "Alien Cowboy", "Peripheral Lover", "Cutting Room Floor" and most recent offering "PVC Divide" (feat. Anaïs Mitchell).
Like Plasticine will be released on 8 August via Mushroom Music.
