Glastonbury’s biggest afterhours area, Block9, has announced the long-awaited return of brutalist giant and outdoor dance arena, Genosys, after a five-year hiatus.

On Friday, Honey Dijon presents GENOSYS RETURNS. Polymath academic, DJ and queer icon, Madison Moore, makes his Glastonbury debut on Saturday, alongside London vocalist and producer Eliza Rose, plus Berlin’s Bashkka. On Sunday, Genosys will pay homage to the vital role of music as a form of political protest and celebrates the 35th Anniversary of legendary Nottingham Sound System, DiY. They are joined by OK Williams, Adonis resident Hannah Holland, A Guy Called Gerald and Felix Dickinson.

Block9 founders Gideon Berger and Stephen Gallagher state: “Genosys was last at Block9 in 2019 so lots of people will never have experienced it before. We have spent the last year rebuilding it ready for its triumphant return and have some amazing artists coming to join the party.”

Block9 family reunite once again around the legendary venues NYC Downlow, The Meat Rack, IICON and Genosys to throw a spectacular party across two fields - Block9 East and Block9 West. Also new for this year, queer nightlife institution NYC Downlow will hold its first ever Saturday daytime House Royalty Ball, hosted by New York legend François K (Body & Soul).

Friday at IICON includes a special BICEP presents CHROMA (AV DJ set), plus LA-based, UK garage artist Introspekt and BBC Essential Mix OG DJ Python. Meanwhile, Saturday daytime House Royalty Ball, at NYC Downlow will be headlined by François K, one of the most revered names in the history of dance music. He is joined by Sean McCabe and Downlow veterans Dungeon Meat. Saturday night sees even more heavyweight New York talent including Spanish Harlem’s very own K.O.T. (Sandy Rivera aka Kings Of Tomorrow), Jeff Mendoza (Soul Summit) & Henry Street’s DJ Spen.
