Girls Aloud's Kimberley Walsh has revealed that the group are planning to put out "alternative versions" of songs from Sound of the Underground to celebrate the album's 20th anniversary.

On 23 May Girls Aloud's debut album Sound of the Underground will turn 20, and to mark the anniversary, Kimberley Walsh has reportedly told Mail Online [via NME], "We've got some fun alternative versions of songs lying around and little re-releases just to kind of mark that because, you know, it's a big deal. 20 years is a long time and the love that we still feel for Sound of the Underground and some of the songs from the first album are still huge."

Walsh added, "So it still feels like something to celebrate, but in a kind of sort of discreet way, I guess."

She also spoke about the possibility of brand new music from the group, saying they're "not really doing anything together as a group for obvious reasons."

In December last year Girls Aloud released a 20th anniversary 7" "Sound Of The Underground" single, and donated proceeds from sales to The Sarah Harding Breast Cancer Appeal.

Eaves Wilder recently covered Girls Aloud's "Biology" live in session for Best Fit.
